Three-time winner over hurdles for B. F. Brookhouse and having changed hands for £21,000, she made an encouraging start for a yard that does well here when fourth in a solid handicap for the grade at Aintree on her return. Entitled to be in the mix here.

Low-mileage 6-y-o seemed rejuvenated by the switch to front-running tactics when successful at Musselburgh on second start for her current yard and backed that up when runner-up at Carlisle in February. Suffered an overreach that day but has been given time and is capable when fresh.

Built on debut promise when winning a fairly useful maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse (2m, heavy) in February. Found the step up to listed company too much at Killarney last time, but she's in excellent hands and remains with potential now handicapping.

Likeable 6-time winner came from further back than the 3 that beat her at Chepstow prior to being outclassed at Sandown on her latest start and this looks a more realistic assignment back against her own sex.

Thriving when successful in a C&D novice this time last year and looked back in rude health when capitalising on a drop in grade with ease at Newton Abbot last time. Runner-up has subsequently franked the form, and she has strong claims to make it a double.

Recorded back-to-back wins at Kelso last season and while not disgraced when third in a 6-runner handicap at Perth last time, she doesn't look to have much in hand from her current mark.

Completed a 4-timer in early 2025 but wasn't in the same form when runner-up in a Hexham seller on final start for Jennie Candlish earlier this month, and it's hard to be confident that the switch of yards/return of cheekpieces will spark a revival.

Fair Flat performer justified support to make a winning debut in this sphere at Musselburgh in November 2024, and while entitled to be sharper for a spin on the Flat (following a 17-month absence) she's pitched into a competitive handicap on just her second hurdle start.

Enjoyed a highly productive time of things last summer, only narrowly denied a third course victory off a 3 lb higher mark in August. Likely still needed the run at Hexham (33/1) last time and makes plenty of appeal returning to this track.

French recruit made a winning start for James Owen in a 5-runner race at Fakenham before finishing third in a listed juvenile at Newbury in late-November, and though the handicapper hasn't taken any chances with her opening mark, she's in good hands and is far from exposed.

Forecasts

Belle Le Grand (7/4), My Chiquita (4/1), Zahra Dodville (4/1), Kientzheim (13/2), Tour Ovalie (11/1), Magnolia (12/1), Dunsy Rock (14/1), Winds Of Winter (16/1), Demoiselle Kap (50/1), Melinda (80/1)

Verdict

Plenty in with a chance but BELLE LE GRAND beat a subsequent winner with plenty in hand last time and she's fancied to defy a 7 lb rise. Winds of Winter thrived at this track last summer and is entitled to go close if back in that sort of form, while Gordon Elliott's Dunsy Rock may well improve on her handicap debut. My Chiquita deserves an honourable mention for a yard that does well here.
