€70,000 3-y-o, Blue Bresil mare. Sister to fair hurdler Tilly Toughnut, stays 2¾m. Dam (b70), lightly raced in bumpers/over hurdles, half-sister to winning hurdler/top-class chaser (stayed 29f) Sir Rembrandt. Makes some appeal on paper so would enter the reckoning if supported in the betting.

Showed only greenness when beating only one home in 8-runner bumper at Clonmel (2½m, soft, 66/1) on debut last month. Tongue strap now added.

£55,000 4-y-o. Second foal: dam (c122/h112), 2½m/21f hurdle/chase winner, closely related to fair hurdler (stayed 21f) Blue Beach. Finished runner-up on second of 2 starts in points and showed a bit when third of 6 in Thurles bumper on Rules debut in February.

Showed plenty of ability having been backed at long odds when second of 13 in Down Royal bumper (17.5f, 12/1) on debut in March. Went backwards tried over a 3f longer trip at Clonmel since but worth another chance based on strength of debut form.

Malinas mare. Half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser Idas Boy. Easy winner on the second of 2 starts in points but ran to only a modest level when fifth of 10 on Rules debut here last week.

Poet's Word mare. Dam (h108), 2½m/2¾m hurdle winner, sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chase winner (stayed 4m) Daffern Seal. Bred more for stamina than speed.

€5,000 3-y-o, Idaho mare. Half-sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Stellar Notion and fairly useful 19f chase winner Forged In Fire. Interesting newcomer for top stable.

Rock of Gibraltar mare. Half-sister to 4 winners on Flat, including smart 5f-6f winner Magical Spirit. Dam ran once on Flat. Stamina has to be question mark on breeding.

Timeform
Sent off 150/1 when jumping left and unseating her rider at the first on hurdling debut at Cork in July. Has left Liam G. O'Brien.
|
Timeform
Improved on hurdling debut form when fourth of 25 in 2m maiden at Naas in January and wasn't seen to best effect under an inexperienced jockey switched to a bumper when third of 13 at Cork since. Has leading claims.

Blue Bresil mare. Half-sister to smart hurdler Indefatigable and bumper winner Litigate. Showed some ability when fifth of 13 in 2m bumper at Cork on debut in March and may do better.

Verdict

THE BESTY WOMAN wasn't seen to best effect on her first start in this sphere at Cork in March, having been forced to switch more than once in the straight, and she's fancied to build on that now with a more experienced amateur aboard. Star of Idaho is a newcomer of interest given the stable she represents, while Gortnaclea Castle is worth another chance back down in trip on the strength of her debut form.
