Worcester maiden winner this time last year and improved again making a quick switch to a handicap when second of 5 over C&D in November. Upped another 4f but that proved too much of a slog for him at Ascot the following month and returns in a first-time tongue tie dropped back in trip.

Winless since June 2024 but he did at least post one of his better efforts from easing mark when keeping on for third at Doncaster (21f) in March. Quickly reverted to being held back by his attitude at Wetherby (3m) a fortnight later, however.

Got off the mark in a Taunton maiden last February. Had failed to make much impact in handicap company until a fine second of 8 at Fontwell (19f, good) last month, clear of rest. Looks up to going one better before long.

Fair form in bumpers for Nicky Henderson and has performed well on a few occasions for new yard over hurdles, including when third of 7 at Bangor (2½m, good) last month. Handicapper rather generously drops him 3 lb.

Possibly transformed in a first-time visor when winning 11-runner handicap hurdle at Wincanton (2½m, good) just under 6 weeks ago, racing clear having jumped more fluently than usual. Handicapper took a dim view with a hefty rise and circumstances unlikely to be so favourable here.

Fairly useful winning hurdler for previous yard but few positives to take from his 3 runs for present connections, tailed off at Bangor recently.

From a good jumping family and made the frame all 3 starts in bumpers. Progressed in each run in maiden hurdles, third of 7 at Wincanton (15f, good) most recently, and he's expected to be seen in an even better light now handicapping over a longer trip.

Maiden but he was knocking at the door this winter with a couple of runner-up efforts. Failed to fire at Exeter (2¾m, good to soft) 8 weeks ago and has since left Dan Skelton (£4,500).

Failed to take to chasing but ran well returned to hurdling when second of 10 at Catterick (25f, good) back in December 2024, left with too much to do. Clearly had his issues to not have been seen since but the handicapper gives him a chance returning in a first-time tongue tie.

Point winner. Still a maiden under Rules but firmly knocking at the door with a couple of runner-up efforts when last seen 13 months ago. Will probably need this returning over an inadequate trip.

Forecasts

Duffry Trixs (7/4), Copper Beach (11/2), Sutherland (11/2), Havefunontherun (13/2), Prairie Diamond (13/2), Heard That (8/1), Ballygeary (11/1), Eternity Rose (12/1), Ballela Blaze (20/1), Madajovy (40/1), Shengai Enki (50/1)

Verdict

DUFFRY TRIXS took his form up a notch when runner-up at Fontwell last month and remaining with very few miles on the clock, Richard Bandey's 7-y-o is fancied to go a place better. Heading up the dangers is Eternity Rose, who has progressed in each of his 3 starts in maidens and can be expected to be seen in an even better light now handicapping over a longer trip. Last-time-out winner Prairie Diamond looks best of the rest.
