Confirmed promise of Leicester hurdle debut second when going one better in maiden back there (2m, heavy) in January. Too keen when well beaten in Newcastle handicap hurdle in February but retains potential for leading stable now switching to fences (close third in sole point).

Notched 4 handicap hurdle wins between April and October last year. Off 6 months, had lost place when clipping heels and unseating 4 out in hurdle at Wincanton 29 days ago. Didn't take to chasing in 5 attempts a couple of seasons ago.

Career best when gaining a second hurdle success in 2½m Newcastle novice (good) 30 days ago, just holding on. Claims if he can translate that form to fences at the first time of asking.

Shaped encouragingly when second on hurdle debut in Ireland last spring. Hasn't reproduced that form when reaching the frame on his 3 completed starts since, proving too headstrong for his own good on occasions. Possible a switch to chasing for his handicap debut could help to settle him down.

Fair hurdle winner but has yet to really threaten over the larger obstacles, despite going off at 6/1 or shorter on his last 5 outings. Well-beaten seventh of 9 in handicap at Bangor (2½m, good to soft) on latest.

Forecasts

Seaview Rock (15/8), Dunkerque (5/2), Rule Me In (10/3), Doc McCoy (6/1), Kara Sacre (9/1)

Verdict

The suggestion is Olly Murphy chase newcomer SEAVIEW ROCK, who disappointed on his handicap hurdle debut when last seen but had taken well to hurdling prior to that and a point background provides hope that he can bounce back now switching to chasing. Kara Sacre has been headstrong in his recent hurdle starts but it's still early days with him and it's possible fences will help him to settle down.
