Telescope gelding from a family the yard knows well and confirmed debut promise when getting up late in slowly-run Exeter bumper (17f) just over 3 weeks ago. Longer trips bound to suit in due course but still worthy of consideration on his first jumps start.

Went backwards from his debut third at Uttoxeter when eighth of 12 in a C&D bumper (soft) in December. Needs to get back on track now switching to hurdling.

Failed to progress from hurdling debut when only sixth of 12 in 2m novice at Hereford (2m, soft) in January, looking unsuited by the drop in trip. Needs this for a handicap mark.

Order of St George gelding. Bumped into a promising rival on the second of 2 starts in Irish points but still seemed very much in need of the experience fitted with a hood when third of 11 in 2m Hereford bumper last month. Makes hurdle bow.

Shirocco gelding who was well supported when making a winning start in a Haydock bumper for Don Cantillon last month. Changed hands for £100,000 and ran as if in need of the outing when fifth of 12 in a 17f novice hurdle at Newcastle in January. Entitled to do better.

Won sole start in Irish points in October and shaped as if in the run would bring him on when third of 8 in a Newton Abbot bumper (17f) last month, no extra only final 50 yds. Must enter calculations on this switch to hurdling.

€10,000 3-y-o, Wings of Eagles gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful chaser (23f-25f winner) What A Good Night. Joined a top yard after finishing runner-up sole start in Irish points (Jan 2026).

£75,000 Kapgarde mare who was an easy winner in Irish points in March 2025 and is a half-sister to numerous winners, including French hurdlers/chasers Marvel de Cerisy and Vangel de Cerisy. Makes quite a belated Rules debut but still of interest for top yard. Wears hood and tongue tie.

Forecasts

Taranis Dubh (11/10), Wings Of Ayrton (4/1), So Proud (11/2), Kap De Cerisy (9/1), Peter's Last Deal (10/1), Sky Grove (12/1), Fine Fellow (25/1), Dunstall Star (28/1)

Verdict

TARANIS DUBH, a winner of his sole outing in Irish points, shaped well when third in a Newton Abbot bumper last month and with that run likely to have brought him on, he's very much of interest on this switch to hurdling. Wings of Ayrton has joined a top yard after finding only one too good on his sole start between the flags, while So Proud is entitled to build on his opening effort in this sphere at Newcastle.
