Cut little ice in a trio of 7f/1m novices last autumn but this son of Oasis Dream was a different proposition upped to 1¼m on handicap debut when justifying heavy support at Beverley 2 weeks ago. Should be plenty more to come upped further in distance.

Dubawi colt who was allotted a stiff-enough mark on what he achieved in his qualifying runs and was a one-paced fourth of 5 in handicap at Lingfield (1¼m) in January. Cheekpieces may help him travel with a bit more zest.

Qualified for handicaps over 6f/7f but bred for longer trips and much more like it when very good second of 11 in handicap at Kempton (1½m) 40 days ago. Should progress again given yard he represents.

Maiden who showed benefit of his reappearance run and made much more of an impact in refitted tongue strap when third of 7 at Wolverhampton (1½m) in March. Left James Fanshawe and failed badly to repeat that form over same C&D 18 days ago.

Shaped well a couple of times at Wolverhampton before getting it right at that venue with a tongue tie added 12 days ago. Arguably value for a bit extra so major claims up 5 lb if proving as effective on turf.

Out with the washing all 4 starts in maiden/novice company. Represents a top yard but didn't show enough with cheekpieces on when fifth of 10 in handicap at Yarmouth (1¼m) 11 days ago to seriously consider him.

Forecasts

Barbury Boy (4/5), Double Combo (9/2), Myrrh (11/2), Keep It Classic (6/1), Crown Inn To Win (15/2), Salkadan (9/1), Due To Shine (33/1), Corduroy (50/1)

Verdict

It was no major surprise that BARBURY BOY left his qualifying form at 2 yrs trailing in his wake when making a winning handicap debut at Beverley 2 weeks ago and with the promise of more to come as his stamina is drawn out further, he'll take some stopping. Salkadan also has his best days ahead of him, while Crown Inn To Win is a danger to both if translating his all-weather form.
