Norfolk Wildlife Trust Centenary Mares' Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Dual Fontwell hurdle winner who made a successful start to her chase career at Kempton last November. Disappointed on her next 2 outings but back on form when third at Warwick (2m, good to soft) and Market Rasen (21f, good) on her last 2 outings. Leading claims down in grade.

Switch to front-running tactics worked the oracle when opening hurdles account at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Back on song after a breathing operation when making winning chase debut over C&D in March. Only a remote fourth at Stratford a fortnight later but better can be expected back at Fakenham.

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser in France, ending her time there with pair of claiming chase wins in late 2023. Best effort over hurdles since returning from long absence for new yard when 2¾ lengths second to Annie Nail in 23f course handicap on Easter Monday. Claims if in same form back over fences.

Overall profile is disappointing, finishing a well-beaten second over 3m at Huntingdon at the beginning of April. Going with zest in first-time blinkers (retained) when unseating seventh at Hereford (25f) 18 days ago but others more persuasive on balance.

Won this race 12 months ago and added a course hurdle win under Oscar Palmer on Easter Monday. Another fine effort here when second in 3m chase 3 weeks ago. Ought to give her running again but is 9 lb out of the handicap.
