Novelista³¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-10| J: Charles Bishop| T: W Greatrex| OR: 84| CD

7/2

Largely progressive in 2025 and got off the mark over C&D in September for Charlie Johnston. Changed hands for 165,000 guineas and posted a good second over hurdles at Southwell last month. A likely player back in this sphere for his in-form yard.

Form: 247143-

(3)

Aggagio⁴⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 9-9| J: Jude Fernandes⁽⁷⁾| T: G & J Moore| OR: 82| CD

11/1

Veteran is a 3-time C&D winner and he arrives fit from a spell hurdling so can't be discounted in his bid for a sixth course victory.

Form: 431534-

(2)

St Mawes^v¹⁹⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-4| J: David Probert| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 78| D

13/2

Low-mileage 4-y-o who ended 2025 firmly on the up with 2m handicap wins at Kempton and Nottingham in the autumn. Well in the mix if fully tuned up for his seasonal return.

Form: 3/40511-

(5)

Appier^h²⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 9-1| J: R Havlin| T: R Bandey| OR: 74

14/1

Scored at Wolverhampton in January but he's an unreliable sort and came in thirteenth of 14 in handicap at Lingfield (2m) 29 days ago.

Form: 3-13230

(4)

Solar Pass^p1¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: Callum Hutchinson| T: A M Balding| OR: 73

10/1

Resumed winning ways at Southwell (1½m) in March but only fifth of 6 in handicap at Wolverhampton (1¾m) 15 days ago. Cheekpieces go on now with her stamina to prove.

Form: 8227-15

(7)

Arc Zoosve^p²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 8-13| J: Harry Davies| T: N B King| OR: 72| D

5/2

Notched his fourth win on the all-weather since joining Neil King this winter when bagging 2m Lingfield handicap last month. Up another 7 lb but can't be discounted back on turf.

Form: 412511

Forecasts

Arc Zoosve (5/2), Percy Shelley (5/2), Novelista (7/2), St Mawes (13/2), Solar Pass (10/1), Aggagio (11/1), Appier (14/1)

A few with chances but this could go the way of C&D scorer NOVELISTA who returns to the Flat on the back of a good second over hurdles at Southwell and could do better still for his new connections in 2026. Course specialist Aggagio seems sure to be on the premises and rates next best ahead of Percy Shelley and St Mawes.
