Edinburgh Rugby Handicap

Won on the Flat at Salisbury last summer when trained by Daisy Hitchins and has been in good form over hurdles of late, again running creditably when third of 6 at Newcastle (17f, good) 18 days ago. Player back on the level.

Clicked for this yard with blinkers enlisted on last 2 starts of last season, bagging handicaps over C&D and Hamilton (1½m). Entitled to have needed his return at Thirsk 11 days ago and he's not taken lightly with headgear now reapplied.

Veteran recorded a hat-trick at Ayr last spring (the latter being his eleventh course success) but ended season out of sorts. Others are preferred returning from 6 months off.

Off the mark in 5-runner handicap at Newcastle in September 2024, his final outing for Rebecca Menzies. Subsequently missed 19 months, but showed ability remains when fifth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (1½m) on return and may have found next start coming too soon just 10 days later.

Raced freely when well beaten in 2 bumpers and made no impact in maiden/novice company last year. Worth betting check now handicapping over a trip he should stay.

No better than mid-field in handicaps last year for J. S. Bolger and soundly beaten in juvenile/novice hurdles for current yard. Possible she'll do better back handicapping on the Flat for a good yard, though.

Showed ability in maiden/novice company last spring but she has since struggled in handicaps, though she has shaped as if worth another try back up at this sort of trip.

Gained breakthrough success at Newcastle (1¼m) in August but well beaten there both starts this season, albeit probably unsuited by the drop to 1m last time. Cheekpieces now go on.

Remains a maiden after 39 runs across both codes and she was last of 10 in handicap (50/1) at Newcastle (2m) 49 days ago.
