Still a maiden over hurdles but only gave best to a better-treated rival at Huntingdon in early-February and should be in the mix again.
Helped by a wayward runner-up when making a winning reappearance over 2¼m here (soft) in December and has had plausible excuses for both subsequent defeats over C&D.
Bumper/maiden hurdle winner has gone backwards since finishing third in a valuable novice handicap at Worcester, faring no better on reappearance at Plumpton last time. Yard also saddles Superstylin.
Notched third win of the season in a handicap chase here last month, and while not at his best in first-time cheekpieces (now removed) when distant second of 4 at Plumpton on latest start, he's fancied to go well off his appreciably lower hurdles mark.
Suited by the step back up in trip when fourth of 9 at Stratford last time. That was his best effort this season, and though back down in distance here, he's 1-1 at Fontwell.
Down the field both starts in handicaps, though he shaped as if better for the run at Chepstow last time, and quickly finds himself on a more realistic mark.
Veteran failed to build on a more promising effort when well beaten at Wincanton last time and his mark continues to slide.
Fair Flat maiden (stays 1½m) hasn't kicked on since finishing runner-up here on hurdling bow (well held at Sandown in January), though he receives a handy 4-y-o allowance on handicap debut and could improve for the longer trip/refitting of headgear.
Well held both completed starts over hurdles in 2024 (also refused to race) and it's hard to be confident now sent handicapping in first-time hood on the back of a 23-month absence.
Hasn't stood much racing for his age but ran creditably on return from a further 3 months off when third of 7 in a first-time tongue strap at Huntingdon. Worth noting in the betting (well backed for sole previous success).
Struggling for form this season, faring no better back over hurdles at Hereford last time.

Superstylin (9/4), Easter Icon (9/2), Blue Universe (6/1), Hiero Sport (8/1), Calshot Spit (8/1), Nelson Gate (17/2), Jefe Triunfo (9/1), Spanish Dancer (12/1), Dontaskchris (18/1), Bread And Butter (20/1), Bushstreet Bowman (25/1), Chosen Bae (50/1), My Lovely Horse (50/1)
In receipt of a handy weight-for-age allowance on handicap bow, NELSON GATE is narrowly preferred to Superstylin, who may make a bold bid from his lower hurdles mark. Lightly-raced 7-y-o Spanish Dancer is another to note in an open-looking race.
