Readily ended a long losing run in small-field veterans handicap at Carlisle (3m) last month. Found life tougher stepping back out of veterans company at Haydock (2½m) last week but should give a good account here despite the suggestion being he'll be better off around 3m.

Opened his chase account at Down Royal in December. Rather snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on his next couple of starts (traded short in-running) and shaped like a non-stayer in Ulster National last month. Leading claims dropped back in trip.
Wide-margin winner here last spring and struck again when proving 8 lengths too strong for The Widdow Maker back from a break at Carlisle in November. Has failed to fire the last twice, his latest effort in refitted cheekpieces after a 4-month break. Visor now the headgear of choice.
Fine strike rate over hurdles (5-10) and notched second success in this sphere when making all in a small-field Leicester handicap in February 2025. More miss than hit since, running creditably just once this season, but is back down to his last winning mark as a result.
All the better for belated return (missed 19 months) when accounting for 6 rivals at Windsor (2½m) on New Year's Day. Finished runner-up for the fifth time in 8 starts in this sphere at Sandown last month and no surprise should he be in the shake up again.
Much improved with a visor added and returned to positive tactics when a dominant winner (jumped superbly) of a course handicap last spring. However, he has completely misfired in 3 subsequent starts and now finds himself with a point to prove. Cheekpieces replace the visor.
Made a winning chase debut at Stratford in October 2024 but has become bitterly disappointing this season, the drop back to this sort of trip failing to work the oracle at Huntingdon last time. Handicapper drops him another chunk, but he requires a leap of faith.

Forecasts
Westerninthepark (9/4), Toothless (11/4), Tommy's Oscar (5/1), King Roly (11/2), Slanagaibhgoleir (11/2), Inox Allen (13/2), Classic Maestro (10/1), Whistleinthedark (25/1)
Having shaped like a non-stayer in the Ulster National last month, SLANAGAIBHGOLEIR is fancied to continue his good work over fences with Cobden taking over returned to a more suitable trip. He can double his tally at the expense of Tommy's Oscar, who has been in good order of late and can have his latest effort in Grade 2 company ignored. Toothless has found one too strong in 5 of his 8 starts over fences and can add another placing to his CV here.
