Useful sort at his best for Emma Lavelle and won twice in points last spring for Amie Waugh. Showed he retains a portion of that ability when making a winning hunter debut at Ludlow a month ago and successful again between the flags since.

From the family of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman and this multiple point winner showed ability when third of 10 in hunter chase at Cheltenham on Rules debut in May. Plugging on when a heavy faller at Hereford in January but has warmed up for this with 2 point wins in recent weeks.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-10| J: Miss Megan Bevan(5)| T: C M Clarke| OR:  110| BF
Fairly useful hurdler who was fourth of 7 in a 2m hunter chase at Cheltenham in May. Not in the same form at Stratford later that month but fit from a runner-up effort between the flags last month. More needed in this company.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-10| J: Mr D Peters| T: D Peters
Half-brother to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Financial Climate and fairly useful chaser Secret She Keeps. Prolific in points (winning all 3 starts this year) and promising start to Rules career when runner-up over this C&D in May. Potential to do better.

Ran in 2 bumpers under Rules for James Evans and got off the mark at the second attempt over hurdles at Hereford over 3 years ago. Well adrift of Killer Clown at Ludlow last month and beaten in another match in points since. Tongue tie goes on.

Forecasts

Largy Pearl (11/8), Killer Clown (2/1), Important Notice (4/1), Kansas Du Berlais (8/1), Amidnightstar (25/1)

Verdict

KILLER CLOWN confirmed he retains a chunk of his old ability when making a successful hunter debut at Ludlow last month and has won again in the pointing field since, so he looks set to strike again. The main threat is surely Largy Pearl, who has the profile to suggest he can progress plenty in this code.
