Geely Leamington Spa Novices' Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Back-to-back 2m hurdle winner last season and opened chase account at the fifth attempt at Ludlow (2½m, good) recently. However, he benefited from a soft lead and was helped in no small part by the fall of his chief threat at the second-last that day.

Dual winner over hurdles who has taken well to chasing, winning at Uttoxeter on return and second only to an improver at Warwick. Beaten before stamina came into play up in trip at Windsor in January but given a break and he's in the right hands.

Maiden hurdler who has taken very well to fences, winning 2m handicaps at Huntingdon and Musselburgh this winter. Placed both starts since and no reason why he won't give another good account.

Certainly wasn't winning out of turn over fences at Huntingdon 2 weeks ago but he did it nicely from the front, his fluent jumping an asset. 6 lb rise may well be within range.
