Progressive form for Ralph Beckett last autumn, culminating with 6f Wolverhampton novice success. New connections acquired him for 26,000 gns in October. Makes handicap debut for new connections from what could be a favourable draw near the rail.

Bagged a pair of 6f novices at Ayr and Redcar at the end of last summer but failed to kick on in nurseries after. His stable has won this 4 times since 2016 but Storm Esme is it's more obvious contender.

Forecasts

Storm Esme (4/1), Hvar (11/2), Empress Olivia (6/1), Yy Spirit (8/1), Wyle Cop (10/1), Cotai Belle (10/1), Generous Rascal (10/1), Mighty Magnus (12/1), Rogue Temptation (12/1), Head For Freedom (12/1), Fordham Flyer (14/1), Wise Crack (20/1), Bye Law (25/1)

Verdict

EMPRESS OLIVIA turns out again before a 2 lb rise for her Catterick near miss kicks in and she could take a bit of pegging back against the rail. Tim Easterby's strong record in this race marks Storm Esme down as an obvious danger. Wyle Cop arrives on the back of a couple of good efforts on the all-weather last month and is next on the list ahead of the Quinn stable's new recruit Hvar.
