Robert Howell Handicap Hurdle

Fairly useful bumper winner made a successful start over hurdles at this track last spring, and though he's stood relatively little racing since, his comeback fourth in a competitive handicap at Exeter puts him in with a chance.

Near-useful bumper winner who following a breakthrough hurdle success at Lingfield, reverted to his error-strewn ways at Newbury before finishing tamely at Wetherby in late-February. Has had a breathing operation since and also has a tongue strap fitted now.

Eight-time hurdle winner (including at this track) who despite his advancing years, finished last year on a high when a close fourth in a 9-runner handicap at Warwick.

Ran by far his most encouraging race since his reappearance when third of 10 at Chepstow last time, shaping as though well worth a go over this much longer trip, and he makes appeal in a less competitive handicap.

Things haven't gone right for this dual point winner since opening his Rules account at Market Rasen last season, shaping as though amiss on return to that track last time. Does at least benefit from Harry Cobden taking over.
