Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Joe Williamson| T: P A Kirby| OR: 100

4/1

Below par over hurdles this season but he shaped well on his chase debut in first-time cheekpieces when fourth of 9 in 3m Wetherby handicap 15 days ago. Can take a step forward in retained headgear.

Empty Nest^t²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-6| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: M Walford| OR: 92| BF| CD

9/4

Scored twice last season (including over C&D), but his form has dipped of late, only fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Wetherby 25 days ago. On a good mark back at this venue in a race that won't take much winning.

Form: 752265

Hawkseye View^p²⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-5| J: Danny McMenamin| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 91| CD

9/4

Finally got off the mark under Rules over C&D in March but expensive to follow otherwise and well held in Carlisle handicap last time. Handily weighted if back on his A-game, however.

Form: 2541F0

Bravethewaves^p,t¹⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-4| J: Toby Wynne| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero| OR: 90| D

8/1

Standout efforts this season when winning over fences at Southwell in November and Doncaster in February. Not easy to catch right though, and below-par seventh reverted to hurdles at Southwell last time.

Form: 914717

Quickasican^p,t²³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-1| J: Peter Kavanagh| T: J Bedi| OR: 87

40/1

Placed first 3 starts over hurdles in 2022/23 for Rebecca Menzies but very lightly raced/little impact since, in mid-field when falling 3 out at Sedgefield over fences last month.

Form: 23/P-8PF

Forecasts

Empty Nest (9/4), Hawkseye View (9/4), The Clonmel Kid (4/1), Independent Jimmy (4/1), Kingston Rock (6/1), Bravethewaves (8/1), Quickasican (40/1)

THE CLONMEL KID shaped well on his chase debut at Wetherby recently and could be the way to go dropped in trip. The danger could be Empty Nest, who goes well here and is below his last winning mark.
