160,000 gns son of New Bay, who following 6 months off/gelding operation, proved a different proposition when successful on handicap bow at Southwell (1m) last week. Drop back in trip no issue for this strong-travelling sort and he can defy a penalty.
Modest maiden had been gelded prior to his handicap debut when (20/1) last of 6 here (likely needed the run). Tongue strap now fitted on second start for new yard, but it's hard to be confident.
Maiden has made a promising start for new connections, going close over extended mile here before being left poorly placed following a slow start (when well backed) fifth of 11 over C&D latest.
Son of Far Above shaped as if better for the run following 9 months off (gelded in the interim) when third of 7 in Southwell maiden last time and ought to make more impact now handicapping.
Son of Ardad could only match previous modest form when 100/1 fifth of 9 on qualifying run at Chelmsford in October, though has been gelded, and will at least benefit from the switch to low-grade handicaps.
