€15,000 Mastercraftsman gelding. Dam, 1½m winner who stayed 2m, closely related to useful 1m winner Silky Dawn. Has had a breathing operation ahead of this belated debut. Best watched unless the betting strongly hints otherwise.

Successful hurdler for Jacqueline Coward. Achieved little when well-held fourth of 6 on 7f Newcastle Flat debut 17 days ago. Unlikely to be of any interest on the level until handicapping over further.

Useful form in 3 outings as a juvenile, culminating with a second in the Group 3 Horris Hill at Newbury (7f, heavy). Will prove as effective back at 1m and should be very hard to beat on return.

Modest form at best in 4 outings for James Ferguson. Outsider on first run for new yard

Promise amidst greenness when third of 8 on Beverley debut (8.5f, good to soft) 6 months ago having been sent off favourite. Gelded and open to improvement on return.

Useful pedigree but just modest form at best in 2 all-weather outings last month.

Half-brother to smart sort El Caballo and showed promise amidst obvious inexperience when fifth of 12 in 1m Southwell novice on debut. A little disappointing when only sixth back there since but it's still early days for leading yard.

Forecasts

Arabian Desert (2/5), Haayimm (9/2), Seattle Chief (8/1), Clough (12/1), Regulus Black (25/1), Contemplation (50/1), Pop The Question (66/1), August Spring (100/1)

Verdict

This should be a straightforward task for ARABIAN DESERT if he can reproduce anything like the form he showed when second in a Group 3 last autumn. Haayimm shaped quite well on his Beverley debut last autumn and can fill the forecast spot ahead of Seattle Chief.
