BetGoodwin Sussex Champion Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Top-class chaser in his prime who has shown that he's still capable of smart form this season, getting back to winning ways in 4-runner Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton in January. Found return to Grade 1 level beyond him at Ascot since but big shout back in a handicap.

Won first 4 starts in handicap chases in summer 2024 and back on the up with a bang last spring, easily winning 2½m Uttoxeter handicap in May. Showed nothing at Ascot in December on return but type to bounce back, especially at this time of year (good second in this 12 months ago).

Progressed again to make it 3 wins from 6 starts over fences at Kempton last month. Third that day has won since and this thriving sort needs considering.

A few decent placed efforts this season but is prone to mistakes and jumping likely to be put under severe pressure in this company.

Dual 2½m hurdles winner who has advanced his form over fences, scoring at Sedgefield on Boxing Day and backing it up with good placed efforts at Cheltenham/Newbury. More needed again from out of the handicap, however.
