Underwriting Exchange Fairyhouse Chase (Grade 2)

High-class chaser at his best and thirteen wins from 21 runs in all. Cheekpieces on for first time when well-beaten fourth of 6 to Majborough in Dublin Chase at Leopardstown (17f, soft) in February and Grade 2 company looks more suitable these days.

Followed up victory in Fortria at Navan by defeating a returning Majborough in the Hilly Way at Cork. Short-priced defeat at Navan can likely be forgiven (raced too close to a strong pace) but questions to answer following Champion Chase display. Did win this last year on the back of 2 poor runs.

Very smart chaser who went close to landing a second Grade 2 of 2024/25 in this race a year ago (split Found A Fifty and Blood Destiny). Lifeless reappearance in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon in December but more like it in Grade 2 at Navan in February. Dangerous if allowed to dominate.

Smart chaser who didn't need to improve to win 5-runner Newlands Chase at Naas 43 days ago by 4¾ lengths from Touch Me Not, easily. Back up in trip and while he lacks the class of a couple of these, he doesn't have anything to prove at present.

Smart chaser who is lightly raced for his age and he got firmly back on the up following a 4-month break when landing Foxrock Handicap at Navan in December, jumping better than can often be the case. Heavy defeat in Plate Handicap Chase at Cheltenham needs casting aside.

Acquitted himself well over hurdles this term without winning, posting a good fourth in handicap at Navan in January and not seen to best effect in the Martin Pipe. Better chaser, second of 4 in Red Mills Chase at Gowran in February.
