Won this in 2023. That was his last Flat success but recent placed efforts over hurdles (very competitive Morebattle at Kelso latterly) suggest he retains all his ability.

0-3 on all-weather but a perfect 3-3 on turf, including a 2m Newbury handicap (good) last April. Not seen since but he remains unexposed as a stayer and every chance his leading yard will have him primed for this. A must for the shortlist.

Course winner for this yard last spring and plenty of good efforts in defeat subsequently, including twice second off this mark on AW last autumn. Much respected on reappearance.

Won 14-runner Gowran maiden for Noel Meade last year. Solid return to the Flat when third in the Southwell novice won by Constitution Hill in February and also a promising third on his Newbury hurdle debut since. Tongue tied first time. Very much unexposed for his good stable.

Suited by a step up to 2m when making a winning start for new connections at Newcastle in a first-time tongue tie (retained) in February. A 5 lb rise shouldn't prevent another prominent showing if in similar form back on turf.

Started 2024 with wins at Southwell and Ascot but not seen since finishing fifth at Yarmouth in July of that year. Returns in a competitive race and a watching brief is the percentage call after such a long time off.

Had some quite useful Flat form in Ireland for previous stable. Little better than modest form over hurdles for Iain Jardine but recent near miss in a Carlisle handicap was more encouraging. Returns to the Flat in a warm race.

Won back-to-back handicaps over this trip on turf last September. Excuse (hampered) when only fifth at Nottingham at odds of 10/11 on his final start. Could have a say on reappearance.

Has only been ticking over on all-weather this year but his mark has edged down as a result. Has done most of his winning on tapeta but is effective on turf.

SPORTINGSILVERMINE had a strong first campaign with the James Owen yard, including a Musselburgh win, and might be able to start 2026 with a bang. Moon Over Miami hasn't been seen for a year but is still unlikely to give up his unbeaten turf record without a fight. Gambino and Team Player also make the shortlist in this competitive handicap.
