£42,000 5-y-o, Ol' Man River gelding. Brother to fairly useful hurdler Coral River, stays 3m. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3m) Three Faces West. One to note having won his second start in Irish points in January.
Timeform
Third on his sole outing in Irish points. Well-beaten ninth of 12 in bumper at Newcastle on Rules debut 3 weeks ago, but is stoutly bred so this longer trip promises to suit as he goes hurdling.
|
Timeform
Placed on his second start in bumpers, but well held in the other 2 and looked very much in need of the experience when tailed off at Market Rasen on hurdling debut 15 days ago, jumping awkwardly.

Maiden winner on the Flat in France and fairly useful form over hurdles as a 4-y-o. After a year off prior to this season, looks to have been finding his feet gradually in 2 starts for current yard, sixth of 12 in maiden at Huntingdon in December. Could yet do better.
|
Timeform
Point winner but was well held in a bumper and hasn't made much impact in 2 starts over hurdles, beaten 3 out when sixth of 10 in maiden at Bangor 2 weeks ago. Cheekpieces now reached for.
|
Timeform
Irish point winner but offered little on Rules debut when tailed off in novice hurdle at Wetherby back in November 2023. Has been absent over 2 years since.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy
Winning Irish pointer and showed plenty of ability on hurdling debut when second of 18 in maiden at Wincanton in February, forcing the odds-on favourite to knuckle down. The one to beat with improvement to come up in trip.
|
Timeform
Off the mark in Irish points at the fourth attempt. However, went with little encouragement when eleventh of 12 in novice hurdle at Newcastle on Rules debut a month ago.
|
Timeform
Shaped like a stayer only start in bumpers and again looked more one for the longer term when sixth of 9 in 17f novice at Newcastle on hurdles bow 3 weeks ago.
|
Timeform
Shaped much better than on debut when third of 6 in mares bumper at this course in December, looking a stayer. However, tailed off at Newcastle the following month and absent since.

Forecasts

Tap Tap Shamie (2/5), Dream On Mick (6/1), Maccarellu (7/1), Jet Noir (16/1), Aristelle (20/1), Mcelhattan (25/1), Patrick's Wells (33/1), The Shanachie (50/1), Last Man Standing (66/1), The Grey Venture (100/1)

Verdict

TAP TAP SHAMIE made a promising start to his Rules career when pulling clear with the odds-on favourite at Wincanton in February and he looks to hold leading claims of going one better. Irish point winner Dream On Mick could be next best on his hurdling debut, ahead of Maccarellu.
