Miss Carboh8(ex 7)
Age: 4|  Weight: 12-1| J: Bradley Harris(3)| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  100
Fair ex-French hurdler who showed improved form on handicap debut over a longer trip when readily winning 6-runner event at Hereford last week. Officially 2 lb 'well-in' here under a penalty and fancied to be in the shake-up.

Won twice last season but struggling for form this time around, tailed off at this track when last seen 3 months ago. Hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces sparking a revival.

Vanilla Dancer25
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-13| J: Danny McMenamin| T: C Grant| OR:  95
Placed twice at the turn of the year before snapping a losing run in 5-runner Catterick mares' event in February. Not in the same form at Carlisle subsequently, but this step back up in trip rates as a plus.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-9| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: S Corbett| OR:  91
Ran up to best in a change of headgear when second of 8 in handicap at Huntingdon on November but not in the same form back there the following month. Consistency not her strong suit so hard to know what to expect on first start for her new yard.

Runner-up in course novice on Rules debut last spring and ran to a similar level when third of 11 here in September. Proved to be a disappointment after 6 months off at Newcastle last month so needs to get back on track.

Georgie's Malt25
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Callum Bewley| T: Ewan Whillans| OR:  87
Modest form in bumpers/maiden hurdles and failed to find any improvement for the switch to a handicap. Yet to try beyond 2½m and further progress may arrive when doing so.

Take A Hiket,p130
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Harry Atkins(7)| T: D J Jeffreys| OR:  81| CD
Promise when placed twice last season and came good back from a break over C&D in November. Disappointing the last twice and the handicapper drops her another couple.

Parish Starh,t45
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ryan Mania| T: A Nicol| OR:  80| BF
Improved for current yard, winning at Newcastle before following up at Southwell in good style. Disappointed when bidding for a quick-fire hat-trick at Carlisle but worth another chance back from a short break with hood/tongue strap back on.

Am I Bovveredh33
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: P W Wadge| T: Miss S E Forster| OR:  78
No impact in bumpers/over hurdles. Needs this switch to a handicap to prove transformative.

Forecasts

Miss Carbo (6/4), Parish Star (7/2), Vanilla Dancer (6/1), Green Bonnet (8/1), Take A Hike (12/1), Ebselysees (12/1), Georgie's Malt (14/1), Theirshegoes (20/1), Am I Bovvered (25/1)

Verdict

Miss Carbo is sure to be popular having bolted up at Hereford last week, yet she may have to play second fiddle to PARISH STAR, who found her winning run coming to an end at Carlisle last time but has been freshened up since and returns in reapplied headgear. This step back up in trip should suit Vanilla Dancer so she completes the shortlist.
