KEP Italia Maiden Hurdle

Off time: 17:31 | Winning time: 5m 6.00s

Deebert¹²¹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: E Bolger

28/1

Showed a bit more than on his 2 previous starts over hurdles when seventh of 14 in maiden at this course in December. This point winner may be more one for staying chases in due course.

Form: 45-10F7

Drombane^t1⁵⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins

10/3

Held back by inexperience when down the field in a Punchestown bumper in November and couldn't have shown much less in a similar race 8 weeks ago at Thurles. Makes hurdles debut in a first-time tongue tie and better showing anticipated stepping up in trip.

Form: 50

Fabhcun⁴⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Jack Kennedy| T: G Elliott

14/1

From a useful staying family and shaped accordingly when fifth at Gowran Park on debut in January. Went backwards from that effort at Fairyhouse the following month but it remains early days.

Form: 55

Kaiser De Chanay^t³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Ricky Doyle| T: M Brassil| OR: 119

11/8

Showed more than on debut when fifth at Navan in January but unable to repeat that minus a tongue tie here subsequently. Equipment goes back on and would be a danger to all if replicating his Navan effort.

Form: 2-657

Keep Em Quite¹⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Danny Gilligan| T: C Collins

15/2

Seemingly being brought along with handicaps over appreciably longer trips in mind judged on his first couple of efforts.

Form: 6P-3350

Lord De Choisel¹¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Paddy Cody⁽⁷⁾| T: E Doyle

66/1

Has shown precious little in 2 maiden hurdles and makes minimal appeal this side of handicaps.

Form: 85

Lord Of The Locke⁴³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Philip Byrnes| T: C Byrnes| OR: 103

4/1

Shaped better than the distance beaten suggested when fifth of 16 in maiden at Punchestown 6 weeks ago, not knocked about. Handicaps likely to show him in a much better light but worth noting should the market speak in his favour.

Form: 6-9575

Sam's Favourite¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Simon Torrens| T: P T Foley

200/1

Refused on debut last month and went with no encouragement when completing at Cork 17 days later.

Form: R0

Wildhorserider¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Phillip Enright| T: T O'Brien

28/1

Made the frame both starts in points and looks a handicap project based on both efforts under Rules so far.

Form: 24-00

Courageous Cleo³⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Carl Millar⁽⁵⁾| T: G Elliott

100/1

No promise in bumper/2 maiden hurdles and looks one for handicaps after this.

Form: 688

Lunar Majesty³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: Ross Berry⁽⁷⁾| T: Colm Murphy| OR: 98

9/1

Little impact in 3 maiden hurdles and looks one for handicaps over further.

Form: 066

Shine Bright¹⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Ryan Treacy| T: Mrs J Cashin

250/1

Yet to show any ability in bumper/both starts over hurdles.

Form: 7-00

Forecasts

Kaiser De Chanay (11/8), Drombane (10/3), Lord Of The Locke (4/1), Keep Em Quite (15/2), Lunar Majesty (9/1), Fabhcun (14/1), Wildhorserider (28/1), Deebert (28/1), Lord De Choisel (66/1), Courageous Cleo (100/1), Sam's Favourite (200/1), Shine Bright (250/1)

KAISER DE CHANAY split a pair of next-time-out winners when fifth at Navan in January provided he's able to put a lesser effort behind him since, Martin Brassil's 6-y-o gets the nod over Lord of The Locke, who shaped better than the distance beaten suggested at Punchestown 6 weeks ago and market support should be noted. Fabhcun and Drombane round off the shortlist.
