Dee Capo23
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: Danny Gilligan| T: G Elliott| OR:  150
Returned an improved model this season, successful at Punchestown in November and produced his best effort yet when fourth in Grade 3 handicap at Leopardstown on penultimate start. Struggled at the Cheltenham Festival last time but he's in calmer waters now and has solid claims on these terms.

Showed ability when fourth in a big-field Navan maiden hurdle in December 2024 but he hasn't made much of an impact since, including switched to this sphere the last twice.

Winner of the Boyne Hurdle last February and creditable third in this year's renewal of that Grade 2 contest at Navan. Wasn't disgraced all things considered at Leopardstown last time and he should make his presence felt back over fences here.

Successful in this sphere at Gowran and over hurdles at Clonmel in February. However, form has dipped the last twice and he faces a tall order at the weights here.

Look To The West91
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: H De Bromhead| OR:  135| D
Encouraging start to her chase career over C&D last February and confirmed that promise when comfortably winning a maiden at Kilbeggan last spring. Well beaten when falling at the last in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse on return on New Year's Day but she can be expected to step up on that here.

Forecasts

Maxxum (6/4), Dee Capo (2/1), Look To The West (9/4), Along The Way (25/1), Mount Frisco (25/1)

Verdict

Gordon Elliott seemingly holds all the aces here, with DEE CAPO and Maxxum both strong candidates. Preference is for the former who will find this company more palatable than the big-field handicap scenario he encountered at the Cheltenham Festival last month. Look To The West is the clear pick of the others.
