Notched second success over fences when opening account for present yard at Catterick in November. Excellent second there in January and, though not at the same level since, he must enter calculations off a mark just 1 lb above that of his Catterick win.

Got off to a flyer last term, finding just one too good on his reappearance prior to winning back-to-back heavy-ground handicap chases at Ffos Las. Ran better than for a while at Exeter last time and dangerous to discount off this reduced mark, though conditions here may not be ideal.

Dual point winner who immediately surpassed hurdles achievements when scoring on chase debut at Hereford in February, for all that she was a fortunate winner. Barely adequate test at Leicester next time but, even so, she looks vulnerable off this mark.

May well have registered a first success had he not departed 2 out in a Stratford handicap chase last time, going at least as well as the eventual winner (scored again since) when crashing out. 2 lb nudge fair but he's 0-17 overall and has now failed to complete on each of his 4 starts over fences.

Irresolute performer with just 1 win to his name from 34 starts over fences and he's again likely to come up short.

Hit the target at the second attempt in this sphere at Uttoxeter in December 2024 but followed that with a series of lesser efforts and 13-month absence to overcome on this debut for new connections.

Capitalised on falling mark when getting his head in front at Plumpton in February. Underlined his inconsistency when a remote third at Huntingdon next time but back on song when going close returned to Plumpton 22 days ago and a reproduction of that would put him firmly in the picture.

This mark is a workable one judged on several pieces of form, including his second-place finishes at Leicester in December/January. On the downside, he failed to fire when sporting first-time blinkers at Uttoxeter recently, yet connections have elected to stick with the headgear.

Showed promise at Newcastle on hurdles bow in February 2025 but has failed to progress and he'll need to take a big step forward now switched to fences if he's to have a major say in this.

Poor maiden hurdler but has a pointing background and there were positives to take from his debut fourth in this sphere at Hereford (21f, soft) in February. Stiffer test here could be what he needs and it's therefore reasonable to expect some improvement from this 6-y-o.

Forecasts

Three Zambezi's (5/4), Good Work (9/2), Streamsforth Lad (6/1), The Scorpion King (15/2), Subtle Fortune (8/1), Felton Bellevue (14/1), Nine Nine Nine (14/1), I See The Sea (22/1), New Invention (33/1), Pearl Island (33/1)

Verdict

In a race where ifs and buts are abound, I SEE THE SEA could be the way to go. He is rather in-and-out but was a good second off this mark at Catterick in January having won there in November and could be set for a big run. Streamsforth Lad is likely to be popular given how well he was travelling when falling 2 out at Stratford but supporting a 17-race maiden who has failed to complete in 4 starts over fences is obviously risky. Felton Bellevue and Three Zambezi's are others to consider.
