Son of Sergei Prokofiev (90,000 gns yearling) failed to match form shown for Kevin Philippart De Foy (having been sold for 15,000 gns) when well held eighth of 12 at Lingfield on stable debut in December. Gelded since but opening mark looks stiff.
Improving filly followed up her Lingfield success with a cosy C&D victory (under a penalty) last time. Should be well positioned given how this is likely to unfold and sure to make a bold bid for the hat-trick.
Son of New Bay (120,000 gns 2-y-o) settled better under a considerate ride on qualifying run at Lingfield (7f) in November and having been gelded since (also wears first-time hood), he could prove a different proposition upped markedly in trip for handicap debut.
No Nay Never gelding ran well behind an easy winner in Chelmsford maiden (1m) last time, and while his mark looks fair, he does have stamina to prove over this longer trip.
Ulysses filly only ran to a modest level for James Owen and offered little on stable debut/reappearance (200/1) at this track last time. Improvement needed on handicap bow.
Ridden more positively when improved second of 11 on handicap debut here last time, and while she was well positioned, this extra distance should only benefit (dam a half-sister to smart winner for this yard Ocean Wind).
Backed up a promising handicap debut here when 1 length third behind Bergamo Gold over C&D last time, carried head awkwardly but finished to good effect from a less-than-ideal position. Now 3 lb better off with that rival and needs considering.

Forecasts
Causing Problems (15/8), Bergamo Gold (5/2), Lux Aeterna (11/2), Risk Averse Rebel (11/2), Wind Summer (15/2), Pangbourne (14/1), Frustration (80/1)
The switch to handicaps/longer trips is likely to see CAUSING PROBLEMS in a much better light and he can deny Bergamo Gold a hat-trick. Risk Averse Rebel has been shaping well here and shouldn't be discounted.
