Numero Vingt²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Hollie Doyle| T: A Watson| OR: 80| D

5/1

Better placed than fast-finishing runner-up (who's won since) when making it 2-2 on all-weather at Lingfield and will need to improve again to make it a hat-trick on handicap debut.

Form: 5-11

Wyle Cop²³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: H Crouch| T: Jack Jones| OR: 78| D

15/8

£160,000 breeze-up purchase off for 6 months (gelded in the interim) prior to comfortably opening his account in Wolverhampton maiden and looks far from exposed on just his second start in a handicap.

Form: 40430-1

(3)

Start Me Up^p,t⁴¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-6| J: Billy Loughnane| T: R Spencer| OR: 77

85/40

Best effort when chasing home now-useful sort over C&D last season and while he hasn't pulled up any trees in Dubai over the winter, he remains unexposed on this surface.

Form: 325-07

(6)

Harswell Angel¹³⁸

Age: 3| Weight: 9-5| J: K Stott| T: Roger Fell| OR: 76| D

18/1

Didn't look the easiest ride when winning a Redcar novice before finishing seventh of 10 on nursery bow at Doncaster in November and he's likely to need further respite from the handicapper.

Form: 5417-

Riley Rocks⁸⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: David Probert| T: Dylan Cunha| OR: 75| D

6/1

52,000 gns Sergei Prokofiev colt improved to open his account at second time of asking in Newcastle novice in January, justifying strong support. That form has been franked and he's been allotted a handy opening mark with more progress to come.

Form: 4-1

(1)

Horwich^h¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs R Carr| OR: 74

33/1

Never looked like making it 3-3 at Wolverhampton on final start for Clive Cox, and having changed hands for 20,000 gns, looked a hard ride over 7f here on stable debut. Very much worth a go over sprint trips on pedigree/style, though.

Form: 1-137

(2)

Fair Y Isle⁶²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-2| J: Joe Leavy| T: H J Evans| OR: 73| D

10/1

7,000 gns Lope Y Fernandez filly confirmed previous promise when cosily winning Wolverhampton maiden in January, and while that form hasn't amounted to much, she remains open to improvement ahead of this handicap debut.

Form: 53-1

Forecasts

Wyle Cop (15/8), Start Me Up (85/40), Numero Vingt (5/1), Hvar (5/1), Riley Rocks (6/1), Fair Y Isle (10/1), Harswell Angel (18/1), Horwich (33/1)

Handicap debutant RILEY ROCKS looks to have been let-off lightly for his Newcastle success and can go on improving. Easy Wolverhampton winner Wyle Cop looks a danger, along with Start Me Up, who has Billy Loughnane aboard for the first time.
