Won 3 times last season, including at Lingfield in December. Looked a shade rusty after a 2-month break there 3 weeks ago and better can be expected dropping back in trip.
Front runner who resumed progress returned to all-weather when winning at Southwell in October and followed that with a good second at Kempton following month. Ran a cracker on return from a break when beaten only by another low-mileage sort over C&D 2 weeks ago and he's shortlisted.
Encouraging comeback when fourth at Lingfield last month but hung so badly right he proved virtually unsteerable over C&D 13 days ago. Hood and tongue strap now go on.
Has shown a quirky side but hard to crab his effort when beating Zryan by a short head in a 12-runner C&D handicap in November, travelling fluently before responding well to pressure. 3 lb higher mark is fair and he's still unexposed.
Gained reward for what had been a promising start for new connections when winning a 12-runner handicap at Southwell (1m) 28 days ago by 2 lengths from Zryan. Helped by being held up in a strongly-run race there but can't be ruled out from 4 lb higher mark.
Reliable sort who scored over 9.5f here in December and seemed well suited by the emphasis on speed when doubling his tally for the winter at Newcastle (1¼m) in January. Another fine effort when 2 lengths second of 12 to Dosman at Southwell (1m) last time and he should give another good account.
Landed a gamble on debut for this yard (formerly trained by Marco Botti) over C&D and proved better than ever when quickening clear in a 11-runner handicap at Kempton (1m) 16 days ago. Should go well again from 5 lb higher mark.
Three-time winner in 2025 and has largely held form well this winter, though turned in a very rare poor effort when down the field behind Dosman at Southwell 4 weeks ago. Type to bounce back quickly, though has widest draw to contend with.
Won twice at Musselburgh last season but ended year out of sorts. Now 5 lb below last winning mark but has bit to prove after 6 months off.
Has recaptured some form of late, finishing second of 4 at Dundalk prior to a decent third of 6 at Chelmsford last week. Probably remains vulnerable to less-exposed rivals, though.
Notched a sixth course success at Dundalk in January but not in same form when only tenth of 13 there (1m) 4 weeks ago.
Won 7f novice at Chester on debut and ran at least as well when second under a penalty at Southwell next time. Checked out tamely from a stiff opening mark at Newcastle 90 days ago, though.

First Principle (11/4), City Of Poets (4/1), Advancing (9/2), Dosman (15/2), Duke's Command (8/1), Zryan (12/1), Unassuming (14/1), Moon Beginnings (14/1), Thunder Wonder (14/1), Superposition (25/1), Penzance (25/1), Perfect Part (25/1), Exquisite Acclaim (80/1)
CITY OF POETS improved when switched to all-weather handicaps last season and James Tate's colt can continue on his upward curve after a 4-month break. First Principle is well suited by this track and has to be considered again on the back of a good effort over C&D earlier in the month, whilst Dosman and Advancing also merit consideration in a hot race.
