Lightly-raced sort who took a big step forward when fifth of 10 in novice hurdle at Wincanton 33 days ago. May do better still now going into handicaps. Considered.

Sole hurdles success came at Carlisle in October 2024 but he's back in decent form of late, third of 8 in 2m Catterick claimer 15 days ago. Can't be discounted reverted to handicap company.

A fair 1½m Flat maiden. Showed progressive form over hurdles (second at Wetherby) until only ninth in the mud on his handicap debut at Ayr last month. Well worth another chance under these less testing conditions.

Forecasts

Lights Go Down (9/4), Klitschko (5/2), King Ulanda (4/1), Telhimlisten (6/1), Jolie Coeur Allen (9/1), Byron Hill (9/1), My Boy Christy (9/1), King Sacre (11/1), Assorda (200/1)

Verdict

LIGHTS GO DOWN had been showing some promise before failing to fire in the mud on his handicap debut at Ayr and this fair Flat performer is taken bounce back in style under these much less testing conditions. Last year's victor Klitschko could emerge as the main danger, although C&D scorer Tellhimlisten and handicap debutant King Sacre can also have a say in this open contest.
