£60,000 5-y-o, Harzand mare. Dam unraced half-sister to smart hurdler/high-class chaser (stays 23f) Kalashnikov (by Kalanisi). Off mark in Irish points at second attempt (Feb 7) and has to be taken seriously on Rules debut.

€17,000 6-y-o, Malinas mare. Dam, unplaced completed start in points, sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 25f) Father Edward. Successful on first of 2 starts in Irish points, runner-up last time (Feb 7). Would enter the reckoning if supported on Rules debut.

Order of St George mare. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 4m) Cogry out of bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler (stayed 21f) Wyldello. Yard's newcomers always warrant respect.

Forecasts

Port And Brandy (2/1), Diamond White (3/1), Galatrona (4/1), Mirabello (4/1), Johnny's Belle (8/1), Atlantic Blue (25/1)

Verdict

GALATRONA opened her account in Irish points at the second attempt recently and there's plenty to like in her breeding being from the family of smart hurdler/high-class chaser Kalashnikov, so she receives the vote to follow up on this switch to Rules. Port And Brandy could well build on the promise shown on her Rules debut at Warwick and is an obvious danger, along with Diamond White, who's displayed a similar level of form.
