Passing Glance gelding. Brother to 3 winners, including bumper winner Eyes Right, stayed 2¾m over jumps, and half-brother to fair hurdler Come On Nia, stays 21f. Noteworthy newcomer for yard having a good spell with its bumper debutants. Wears hood.

Shaped well amidst obvious inexperience when third of 9 in bumper at Ascot (15.7f, good to soft) on debut last month, nearest at the finish. Entitled to do better.

Forecasts

Prince Rupert (6/4), Stars Aligning (4/1), Max D'airy (4/1), Galante De Vassy (15/2), Tide Is Turning (17/2), Seven Airs (10/1), Brother Jack (16/1), Tuscaloosa (100/1), Esther Spring (125/1), Amhranai (150/1)

Verdict

A few interesting pedigrees on show in this bumper but none more so than PRINCE RUPERT, who hails from an excellent Flat family and can continue the strong run of the Henderson yard - following its fine week at the Cheltenham Festival - by making a winning start. Galante de Vassy showed plenty to work on amidst inexperience on her recent debut at Ascot, while Max d'Airy is an interesting recruit for Paul Nicholls having changed hands for €100,000 following his second in a French bumper.
