Not the force of old as a 12-y-o and he failed to build on an encouraging reappearance Musselburgh fourth when beating only one in 23f Kelso handicap chase 23 days ago. Still not out of things if back on his A-game with Brian Hughes up.

Won 2 veteran events last season (one over C&D) and acquitted herself well on her first 2 starts this term. Not so good since though, tried in different headgear when eighth at Ascot (3m) 22 days ago. Has a bit to prove.

Winner of the Badger Beers at Wincanton in 2023 but lightly raced and mainly below par since, coming in a remote fourth of 6 in 3m Sandown handicap chase in January. Visor is reached for now.

A useful novice hurdler in 2021/22 season but off for over 2 years subsequently and hasn't hit the same heights over fences. Fared better than of late in a first-time visor when second of 8 in 3m2f handicap at Uttoxeter last time and needs to back it up now with the headgear again fitted.

Course winner TOMMY'S OSCAR comes here on the back of a good Musselburgh second and is fancied to go one better in this veterans' event now he goes back up in distance. Empire Steel could emerge as the main danger if shugging off a lesser effort at Kelso, although Uttoxeter runner-up Hillcrest could also have a say if the visor works the oracle for a second time.
