Out-and-out stayer but winless since 2022 and hard to catch right, going close at Carlisle on return but running poorly in this headgear at Wincanton since.

Smart novice hurdler in 2022/23. Very lightly raced since and not progressing over fences this season, respectable third of 6 at Kelso 3 weeks ago on handicap debut in this sphere. Up in trip.

Won Bangor maiden/novice hurdles over 19.5f and 23f last spring. Left return/chase debut there well behind when good second at Doncaster in December but reportedly suffered a breathing problem following month. Seems best away from testing conditions.

Got off the mark in handicap chase here in December 2024 and first win since when making all at Kelso 3 weeks ago, looking better than ever in first-time headgear. Handicapper hasn't overreacted to that wide-margin success so remains of firm interest again.

Readily landed conditional jockeys' handicap at Chepstow (26) in October. Decent second at Kempton later that month but not so good next 2 starts, beaten before trip was an issue at Fakenham in December. Headgear on.

Forecasts

Wal Buck's (6/4), Ki Woo (3/1), Maximilian (7/2), Iron Bridge (6/1), Safe Destination (12/1)

Verdict

WAL BUCK'S might have had everything go his way when a wide-margin winner at Kelso 3 weeks ago but the handicapper hasn't overreacted so he's fancied to follow up in this field. Iron Bridge is capable of making a race of it if on a going day.
