Bumper winner (only start for Claire O'Connell) and struck at the third time of asking over hurdles in 2m Ayr maiden in January. Only a respectable fourth in a novice back at Ayr (2m again) 4 weeks later but today's longer trip may unlock some improvement.

Bumper winner who landed a 19f Catterick maiden on his second start over hurdles and stepped up on that form when narrowly denied in a 19f novice there on New Year's Day. Leading claims.

Fourth of 15 in bumper here (6/1) on debut in January. Now sent hurdling and entitled to improve for that experience.

Made a winning start in a Kelso bumper last season. Stepped up on hurdle debut when 12 lengths third back at Kelso in November but not in anything like the same form when seventh at Carlisle in December. Freshened up since.

Point winner but that was in October 2023 and he's been absent since pulling up in a point in April 2024. Tongue tied for hurdle debut. A watching brief is advised unless the betting suggests otherwise.

Bumper/maiden hurdle winner last summer. Ran no sort of race at Thurles when last seen in December but John McConnell's good record in Britain means a revival would come as no surprise.

Well held on his completed start in points. Offered something to work on when third in a Musselburgh bumper in December but always behind on C&D hurdle debut since.

£80,000 purchase after finishing runner-up in an Irish point last February. It'll be interesting to see what the betting makes of this hurdle newcomer.

From a useful family and got off the mark at in Irish points at the fourth attempt in November. The betting should help guide to expectations now hurdling.

Dual point winner but didn't offer much in a course bumper and 2m Ayr maiden hurdle in January. Up in trip.

Successful on first of 2 starts in Irish points. Better effort in maiden hurdles when 20 lengths sixth of 16 over C&D (good to soft) in January but probably more one for handicaps after this.

Forecasts

Silver Hill (8/11), Sanilam (7/2), Minella Supreme (9/2), Finbarr (9/1), Humble Jumble (18/1), Talk To The Boss (18/1), Tantivy Vavoom (25/1), Old Comrades (50/1), The Grey Venture (66/1), Return To Florida (150/1), Royal Maggs (150/1), Millford Hill (200/1), Khaleesi Queen (300/1)

Verdict

This may revolve around the 3 previous hurdle winners in the line-up. SILVER HILL ran a cracker when narrowly denied a second hurdle success at Catterick on New Year's Day and gets the vote, although John McConnell Irish raider Minella Supreme, who escapes a penalty for his win in a conditional jockeys' event, would be a big danger if bouncing back to his best after a short break. Ayr scorer Sanilam has a bit to find on form but may benefit from today's longer trip.
