Runner-up both bumpers and has looked a useful prospect when winning maiden/novice events at Newcastle since switching to hurdles. Unlikely to give up his unbeaten record over hurdles without a fight.

Plenty of promise in bumpers and spearheaded a 1-2-3 for his yard in 2m course novice on hurdle debut in October. Hasn't really built on that when fourth on all 3 outings since and will need to advance his form if he's to provide his stable with back-to-back wins in this race.

Showed promise despite falling both starts in Irish points and has made a good start over hurdles, placing twice before landing the maiden at Newcastle (2m, good to soft) last month. The yard is no stranger to success in this.

Point/bumper winner who has struck twice over hurdles, seeing off the reopposing Red Oak by 1¼ lengths at Catterick (19f, good to soft) for latter win 38 days ago. This demands more but he's going the right way.

Made a winning start to his career in 19.5f Hereford maiden hurdle in November and followed up in 20.5f Market Rasen novice a month later. Lost his unbeaten record but advanced his form again when 7¾ lengths fourth of 6 to No Drama This End in Challow at Newbury over Christmas. Enters calculations.

Runner-up twice in bumpers in Ireland. Filled the same position on hurdle/stable debut at Ascot in November and didn't need to reproduce that form to go one better over 2½m at Musselburgh in December. Good 1¼ lengths second to reopposing Kosac D'oudairies in novice at Catterick (19f, good) since.

Successful on completed start in points and has taken well to hurdling, winning a pair of 2m Wetherby novices in the mud this winter. Fourth in the Grade 1 Formby at Aintree in between. The form of his second Wetherby success has been boosted and he holds leading claims with further progress likely.

Improved to land hat-trick in 2m maiden/handicaps at Perth in the first half of the season and better form when reaching the frame 3 times in Graded novices at up to 3m since. In the mix again.

Runner-up on the first of 3 bumper starts and going the right way over hurdles without winning, finishing second of 13 in maiden at Doncaster (19.5f) last month. Bit of a surprise if a first win arrives in Graded company, though.

Fairly useful form when runner-up on second of 2 Flat starts for Aidan O'Brien and sound start over hurdles for new connections, latterly finishing 4 lengths fourth in Grade 2 Finesse at Cheltenham. Should be more to come from a lightly-raced sort who wears first-time cheekpieces here.

STARMOUNT impressed when easily dispatching recent course scorer Kaka's Cousin at Wetherby last month and is narrowly preferred to Dan Skelton's Le Beau Madrik, who is 2-2 over hurdles. Lord Byron, the sole 4-y-o in the line-up, and Montemares have already shown they can hold their own in Graded company and may prove best of the remainder.
