Prone to mistakes and fell for the third time in his chasing career at Sandown (11/2) last month. Cheekpieces reapplied but he's not a reliable betting proposition.

Hardy Du Seuil^p¹¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-11| J: Isabelle Ryder⁽⁵⁾| T: Jamie Snowden| OR: 126| BF| D

11/4

Retuned to winning ways in handicap hurdle at Windsor in November and ran a stormer over fences when going down by just a head at Carlisle 11 days ago, edged out near finish having had the run of the race to assist. Every chance he can go one better from the same mark.

Form: 3-31042

Daytime Dreaming²⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Jack Andrews| T: T Ellis| OR: 125| D

10/11

Confirmed hurdles debut promise when landing the odds at Southwell in December 2024 and repeated that feat over fences back there earlier in the month, in control when left clear at the last. Very lightly raced and could well be up to defying an 8 lb rise with more to come.

Form: 2/41-41

Rath Gaul Hill^p,t²⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-1| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: S Drinkwater| OR: 116| CD

4/1

Completed hat-trick when making a belated winning return in this last year. Wasn't far off his best when third of 6 in first-time cheekpieces here in December but seemingly out of his depth at Sandown the following month. Back down in grade but hard to confident given his patchy form.

Forecasts

Daytime Dreaming (10/11), Pure Carbon (2/1), Hardy Du Seuil (11/4), Rath Gaul Hill (4/1), Kotmask (15/2), First Angel (10/1)

A good race in which cases can be made for a few. Preference however is for DAYTIME DREAMING, who had the race sewn up when left clear at Southwell earlier in the month and Tom Ellis' very lightly-raced 6-y-o is open to further improvement. Pure Carbon has taken very well to fences but he may have to settle for silver in his hat-trick bid, with Hardy du Seuil rounding off the shortlist.
