BetVictor Simple Things Juvenile Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off the mark at the third time of asking for Paul Nicholls with a quite stylish success in 8-runner novice hurdle at Taunton (19f, soft) 15 days ago, seeing of odds-on favourite. Manner of that victory suggests there could be more to come.

Winner on hurdling debut in France but yet to match that form in two starts for new yard, tiring after racing freely/jumping left at Market Rasen in December. May do better going this way around and looks worth another chance following a break.

Fair maiden on Flat (should be suited by further than 1½m) but well held on handicap debut/final start for Kevin Philippart de Foy in October. Changed hands for £28,000 and market may prove best guide on stable/hurdle debut.

Well-related colt who showed fair form on Flat (will be suited by at least 1½m) for Roger Varian last summer and looks sure to be of interest on hurdle debut for leading yard.

Fair maiden on Flat who went backwards from his hurdling debut here when well beaten fourth over C&D earlier this month. Likely a handicap project now.

Improving middle-distance winner on Flat who made an encouraging start over hurdles when second in 14-runner juvenile at Warwick in November. That race has produced winners and he should have more to offer.

Ivanhowe gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful chaser Georges Saint, stays 3¼m, and modest hurdler/fair chase winner Kobalt St Georges. Dam, half-sister to useful hurdle winner/smart chase winner at 2m Bon Papa. Pedigree suggests he'll probably need more time/distance.

Fair stayer on Flat who got off the mark in handicap at Chelmsford last month. Sean Bowen aboard for hurdles bow but he's probably one for the longer-term, unless the market suggests otherwise.

Fair 10f Flat winner who looks the part for jumping and shaped with promise when considerately handled fifth in 16-runner mares' maiden at Kempton on debut earlier this month. Open to improvement.
