8/15
Dual bumper winner who made amends for a costly late error on C&D hurdles bow in November when justifying cramped odds in a 12-runner Doncaster maiden (16.6f) 3 weeks ago, the emphasis on stamina playing firmly to his strengths. Possibilities with further progress anticipated.

5/2
Irish point scorer who was impressive when making a winning hurdles debut at Exeter (16.7f) in November. Very much caught the eye in defeat since, highly likely he'd have finished much closer with a clear shot at things on handicap bow at Windsor (20f) 6 weeks ago. Big shout back in novice company.

Didn't kick on from his bumper debut last season but he confirmed promise of his hurdles bow at the second attempt when winning 8-runner novice at Ffos Las (15.8f, heavy) 26 days ago, a first-time tongue tie perhaps the key. Could do better again.

Well held in points and similar story both hurdle starts. One for handicaps over further and yard hold much stronger claims with Count of Vendome.

Has only hinted at ability in 3 bumpers and a maiden hurdle. Looks more one for the longer term.

Forecasts

Count Of Vendome (8/15), Harry Lowes (5/2), The Hawkstonian (11/2), Ayyadieh (66/1), Good Boy Griff (150/1)

Verdict

Having made an impressive winning debut over hurdles back in November, HARRY LOWES has very much caught the eye both starts since, not seen to anything like best effect when fifth on handicap debut at Windsor 6 weeks ago. Dan Skelton's 5-y-o remains with considerable potential and earns the vote over Count of Vendome, who looked all about stamina when successful at Doncaster.
