Modest maiden on Flat in Ireland and efforts in this sphere to date have not been at all promising.

Successful 3 times on the Flat for Richard Hannon but, having changed hands for just 6,000 gns in October, he hasn't offered much in a couple of spins over hurdles for new connections.

Smart on the Flat in France (purchased for €520,000 last October) and has shown plenty in 5 starts over hurdles, most recently finishing fourth on handicap debut in this sphere in a valuable race at Ascot. Hard to oppose.

Fair on the Flat in France but hard to recommend judged on performances since switched to hurdles. Has undergone a wind op since latest appearance.

Useful bumper winner and runner-up in pair of Taunton novice hurdles last winter. Disappointing switched to handicaps last 3 starts but solid each-way chance in this maiden, provided that he responds well to the first-time tongue strap (didn't show much tried in cheekpieces last time).

Safely held sole start in a 4-y-o hurdles in France last year and she's probably best watched starting out for new yard.

Third both starts in point bumpers but there have not been many positives to take from her efforts over hurdles so far.

Forecasts

Mondo Man (1/7), Thistle Be The One (4/1), Lady Iris (16/1), My Lovely Horse (100/1), Major Major (100/1), Somkiyr (100/1), Hialeah (125/1)

Verdict

It will be very disappointing indeed should MONDO MAN fail to open his hurdles account in this uncompetitive maiden. A smart performer on the level in France, he has kept good company since switched to hurdles and will find few more clear-cut opportunities than this. Thistle Be The One is by far the most appealing option for forecast purposes, while Lady Iris may prove to be best of the rest.
