Bred to be fairly useful and hinted at ability amid inexperience when well held on hurdle debut at Taunton earlier this month. In good hands and will to do better at some point. Worth a market check.

Created a good impression to win on bumper debut here and made a promising start over hurdles when runner-up in 2m novice at this course last month. The way he finished that day bodes well for this step up in trip. Leading contender.

Fair 2m Flat winner for Tom Ward (changed hands for 32,000 gns) but has made a discouraging start to hurdles career, failing to complete either start (tried to refuse before unseating latest). Now upped in trip in first-time hood.

Isn't badly bred and showed a bit when finishing midfield in an Exeter bumper last month. Now sent hurdling but likely a longer-term project.

Offered something to work with in bumpers last spring but seemingly being brought along steadily over hurdles. Looks one for handicaps.

Cost £80,000 after winning second start Irish points and built on a promising hurdle debut when runner-up in 2½m Ffos Las maiden on first start following breathing operation 23 days ago, only caught late by one with superior form. Entitled to be in the mix again.

Winning pointer is related to some useful types and she showed an aptitude for hurdling (wore tongue strap following breathing operation) when fourth in 12-runner Ludlow (21.3f) earlier this month. Ought to improve for that experience.

Forecasts

Glancing Jack (6/5), Tommy Pickles (6/5), Parliamo (10/1), Jurassic Pet (11/1), Kingdom Of Stars (33/1), Angel Wave (33/1), Malinaero (100/1)

Verdict

Course bumper winner GLANCING JACK shaped well when runner-up on hurdles debut here and with the step up in trip expected to suit, he can go one better. Tommy Pickles did little wrong when collared late at Ffos Las in January and has to enter calculations, while winning pointer Jurassic Pet is open to improvement following a creditable first effort under Rules.
