It's now the best part of 3 years since his last win but shaped encouragingly on his return from 10 months off when runner-up in a 7-runner handicap chase at Fakenham (21.2f, soft, 10/1) 33 days ago. Entitled to be sharper here but drop to 2m not certain to suit.

Maiden who ran well when placed over fences at Ffos Las (19.4f) in November but no impact in 3 starts since (stiff task on latest). Others preferred.
|
More miss than hit in handicap hurdles but consequently slid in the weights and ran well despite a less-than-fluent round of jumping on his first start in a handicap chase when second of 8 in at Taunton (18.2f, soft, 7/2) 17 days ago. Can build on that if more accurate this time.

Finally off mark when scoring at Market Rasen last month and has since completed a quick-fire hat-trick with wins over C&D and at Lingfield (16f, heavy). Showed a good attitude on the latest of those victories and looks to have found another winnable race, so is shortlisted again from 6 lb higher.

Shaped like a stayer in 2 Irish bumpers but has finished well beaten in maiden/novice hurdles for this yard. Will need to show more to make a winning handicap/chase debut.

Forecasts
El Rojo Grande (11/8), Storming Nelson (2/1), Dj Pete (4/1), As Tears Go By (13/2), Ballywood (20/1), Quinta Brigada (33/1)
EL ROJO GRANDE looks to have been found a good opportunity to extend his winning run to 4 and makes most appeal in a shallow race. Storming Nelson didn't jump particularly well last time but is feared most on the back of that encouraging second, while As Tears Go By ran well on his comeback but isn't sure to be suited by the drop back to 2m.
