Fairplay Lets Bet On It! Handicap Chase (GBB Race)

Veteran who ended a long losing run when scoring at Fakenham in October and improved on that form when taking 6-runner handicap (29.1f, soft) at same course under this rider in December. Out of depth in much better race at Windsor since, however, and others make greater appeal overall.

Resumed from 6 months off/breathing surgery with a good second at Ffos Las in October but she's not straightforward and disappointed at Doncaster last time.

In good form with a win and a second at Lingfield prior to finishing second of 7 in handicap chase at Leicester (22.7f, soft) 24 days ago, no answer to a well-treated rival. Likely to go well again. Engaged 3.50 Leicester Thursday.

Made a winning handicap chase debut at Wetherby in December 2024 but ended last term on a low-key note and is yet to fire this season.

Won back-to-back handicap hurdles (at up to 19.5f) last winter but progress has rather stalled since, again prominent in the market when last of 7 at Southwell (24.3f) in December. However, was successful in his only Irish point, so he's not ruled out now sent chasing.

Fairly useful winner of 2½m maiden chase in May 2024 for Paul Nolan (sole success from 14 starts under Rules in Ireland) and may have needed the run, on stable debut following 12 weeks off/breathing operation, when well held at Haydock 4 weeks ago. Back chasing now and is worth monitoring in market.

Placed on all 4 starts over hurdles at this course, latterly when creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (23.6f, good to soft, 16/5) 69 days ago. Returns to chasing now (successful over C&D off 3 lb lower in 2024) and must be of interest.

Winning pointer/hurdler but that was back in 2022 and he has offered little under both codes this winter. Needs to take a big step forward.

Fairly-useful staying hurdler who matched best form in this sphere when good second of 7 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (23.8f, heavy) 14 days ago, doing better under change of tactics. Remains feasibly treated and will have no problem with testing conditions.

Well held on Ayr reappearance in November but ran much better at Wetherby a fortnight later, booked for second behind an in-form rival when falling at the last. Chance also ruined by bad mistake at Catterick since so clearly comes with risks attached.

Returned to form when second at Carlisle in February and backed that up when filling the same position behind an unexposed rival at Hexham (24.2f) 11 weeks later. Not given a hard time on belated return at Ffos Las last month and figures off a handy mark.

Opened his account in Lingfield handicap chase (23.5f) on return and didn't do much wrong when runner-up under a penalty over C&D 10 days later. Seemed to have race in safe keeping when coming down 2 out at this course (23.6f, soft) last month and 6 lb rise doesn't look too harsh. Big player.
