Grandad's Cap^h¹¹^{(ex 7)}

Age: 6| Weight: 12-5| J: K Brogan| T: L Morgan| OR: 95

5/4

Has made a promising start to his chasing career, confirming debut promise when easily landing 5-runner handicap chase at Market Rasen (23.9f, soft, 15/8) 11 days ago. Open to further improvement and claims are crystal clear under a 7 lb penalty.

Italian Spirit^p¹⁴

Age: 10| Weight: 12-0| J: Megan Bevan⁽⁷⁾| T: H Dickin| OR: 97| D

8/1

Maiden hurdle winner for Olly Murphy back in 2021 but went with little promise fitted with first-time cheekpieces on his belated chasing debut at Wincanton recently.

Form: 93P/3-85

Moor End^t1⁴⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-13| J: Lily Pinchin| T: Mrs E Bishop| OR: 96| D

2/1

Made a winning start over fences at Uttoxeter (20f) on return and backed it up with a brace of placed efforts to end 2025, latterly over C&D. Obvious player from same mark in a first-time tongue strap.

Form: 567-132

Has no form outside of Irish points/hunters and now drops back in trip after failing to last home at Fontwell (26f) on most recent outing.

Form: 260-847

Hitthekettle¹²⁰

Age: 10| Weight: 10-2| J: James Turner⁽⁵⁾| T: M Gates| OR: 71

Form: 6/6P-43P

Voleur De Terres²¹

Age: 8| Weight: 10-2| J: Lee Edwards| T: Miss C Dyson| OR: 66

40/1

Dual winning Irish pointer but has offered little so far under Rules, including when fourth of 8 in handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f, soft) on latest start. Seems set for another struggle from 5 b out of the weights.

Form: 08P-P64

Forecasts

Grandad's Cap (5/4), Moor End (2/1), The Brickey Ranger (4/1), Italian Spirit (8/1), Owl Of Athens (12/1), Voleur De Terres (40/1), Hitthekettle (50/1)

GRANDAD'S CAP and Moor End have both made promising starts to their chasing careers, with marginal preference for the former, who shouldn't be inconvenienced by the return to this trip given how strongly he travelled when taking apart a weak race at Market Rasen recently.
