Progressive chaser who completed a hat-trick last October but has found Grade 1 company too hot in two subsequent starts. Second of 4 at Limerick (12/1) 42 days ago, went prominent third but held soon after 2 out. Drops to Grade 2 company and looks the one to beat.

Maiden chase winner at Galway in October and followed up in Grade 2 company at Punchestown. Successful in 5-runner contest there (7/4 fav) 78 days ago, keeping on well from seventh to assert in run-in. Smart stayer in the making who can improve further.

Won 7 times over hurdles but hasn't won since October 2024 and has struggled over fences, finishing sixth of 9 in maiden chase at Gowran Park (33/1) 17 days ago. Fared better than previously but likely better suited to handicaps than this Grade 2 assignment.

Completed at the second attempt over fences in December after debut at this course and was third of 4 in Grade 1 chase at Limerick (100/1) 42 days ago, though that wasn't a true test. Has bit to prove at this level.

Forecasts

Oscars Brother (6/4), Gold Dancer (13/8), Western Walk (3/1), Bossofthebrownies (3/1), The Wallpark (12/1)

Verdict

GOLD DANCER completed a hat-trick last autumn before finding Grade 1 company too hot on his last two starts, but the drop to Grade 2 looks ideal and he's fancied to return to winning ways. Oscars Brother already has Grade 2 form from Punchestown and looks a smart stayer in the making who can improve further. Bossofthebrownies ran his best race when second at Naas a fortnight ago.
