Much improved on the back of breathing surgery, taking his chase tally to 3 wins from 4 starts at Catterick (15.6f) 5 weeks ago. Holding on grimly then following 3 mistakes up the home straight but definite claims again up 4 lb provided he keeps the errors at bay.

Irish point scorer who also bagged a pair of novice hurdles (around 2m) at Carlisle and Kelso in April. Went off too hard when seventh of 13 in handicap hurdle at Carlisle (17.2f, soft) in November and he's entitled to step up on his opening chase effort here (19.3f) 6 weeks ago.

Has shown plenty of temperament (running out twice) but was coaxed to victory under a good ride in novice hurdle at Fontwell last March. However, there hasn't been much encouragement to glean from either of his chase efforts following a breathing operation this winter. Cheekpieces now reached for.

C&D winner this time last year who posted a career-best display when following up in valuable Series Final at Carlisle (2m) in March. Failed to come on for November's reappearance sixth when pulled up here (19.3f) on Boxing Day but this return to 2m rates a likely plus ahead of this.

Hurdles winner who didn't go without promise prior to falling on chase debut in December and she confirmed as much when scoring from the front at Plumpton (17f) 9 days ago, pressing on from 3 out and asserting final 100 yds. Needs considering with a repeat under a penalty. Tongue strap applied.

Both of his chase victories have come at Catterick, the latest from 3 lb higher around this time last year. However, he's hardly been shaping like a winner in waiting of late, never remotely a threat when 7 lengths third of 5 to Supreme George back at Catterick 5 weeks ago.

Forecasts

Double Digits (2/1), Sea Thrift (9/4), Boston Boy (11/2), Supreme George (6/1), Raffles Wonder (10/1), Treaty Boy (10/1)

Verdict

SUPREME GEORGE was ultimately forced to pull out all the stops when bringing up a quick-fire hat-trick at Catterick when last seen on New Year's Day, with some late mistakes hardly aiding his cause on that occasion. However, he had previously impressed in that department and, having been given more time ahead of this, he may well be up to completing the 4-timer from his revised mark. Plumpton-scorer Sea Thrift is the obvious threat, with Double Digits expected to progress from his chasing bow.
