Ladbrokes Dublin Chase (Grade 1)

Dual Queen Mother Champion Chase winner at Cheltenham but pulled up in that race last season. His reappearance third to Found A Fifty in a Cork Grade 2 he'd won 3 times previously merely adds to the impression that he's understandably not quite the force of old at 12. Cheekpieces go on first time.

High-class C&D winner but below par when 21¼ lengths fourth of 7 to Solness over C&D last month. Others are preferred.

Two Grade 1 novice chase wins underline how talented he is but he is prone to jumping errors and can also pull hard, the latter tendency proving costly when 3¼ lengths third to Solness and Marine National over C&D at the Christmas meeting. Wears first-time cheekpieces here.

Unbeaten in bumpers/over hurdles and he developed into a top-class chaser last season, winning Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham. Followed up in Grade 1 at Punchestown in April and shaped very well when ½-length second to Solness on C&D reappearance given he nearly unseated early on.

Smart chaser at his best but out of his depth in this company.

High-class chaser who beat Marine Nationale in this last year and recorded another C&D verdict over that rival on his reappearance at the Christmas meeting, although he has to be considered a bit fortunate given what happened to Barry Connell's charge. First-time visor replaces regular cheekpieces.
