Horse A-Z
Decent jumps pedigree and he left his hurdles debut form in his wake when landing 4-runner maiden hurdle here (15.5f, soft) 64 days ago. More needed under a penalty but he's open to further progress with this step up to 2½m looking sure to suit.

Placed in points and progressive over hurdles, making a winning a winning return in a good time in a Bangor novice (23.1f), impressing with his jumping. Proved a disappointment on chase/handicap bow at Kelso but respected back over the smaller obstacles.

4/5
Wide-margin point/bumper winner who overcame inexperience after 7 months off to maintain his 100% record in a 20f maiden hurdle at Ffos Las in October. Found only a similarly promising one too good under a penalty back there 12 days ago and remains with potential.

Successful on completed start in Irish points and created a good impression when landing 8-runner maiden hurdle at this C&D (heavy) on Rules debut 47 days ago, forging clear. Likely to improve.

Blue Bresil gelding who has shown a bit of promise in a bumper/maiden hurdle nearly 4 years apart. Yard still quiet however and looks best watched a present.

Shirocco gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Dam unraced half-sister to Hello Sweetie (2m-2¼m winner) and Sorcier du Roi (17f-2½m winner), both fairly useful hurdler/chaser.

Finished in the frame on all 4 starts in Irish points earlier in career but comfortably held in a pair of maiden hurdles. Needs this run for a handicap mark.

Forecasts

Starzand (4/5), Ubatuba (15/8), Skuna Bay (13/2), Hot To Go (12/1), Tombereau (33/1), Bresiliant (50/1), Fine As Wine (66/1), Could Be You (300/1)

Verdict

UBATUBA seemed to relish the emphasis on stamina when forging clear for a wide-margin success on his hurdling debut over C&D early last month and, with conditions set to be similarly testing, he's fancied to defy a penalty at the first time of asking. Starzand is a promising rival and is sure to pose a big threat if coping with the quick turnaround, while Skuna Bay warrants respect back over the smaller obstacles, too.
