Bataillon³²

Age: 8| Weight: 11-13| J: Jack Stenhouse⁽⁷⁾| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR: 97

12/1

Fair maiden hurdler who may have still needed the outing, on second start back from lengthy absence, when fourth of 7 in handicap chase (13/2) at Catterick (19.2f, good) on debut over fences 32 days ago. Should have more to offer.

Form: 6P2/2-64

Faitque De L'Isle^p⁵⁵

Age: 11| Weight: 11-10| J: Miss Lucy Turner⁽⁵⁾| T: H J Evans| OR: 94| BF

10/1

Advanced his form when an emphatic scorer at Uttoxeter (24.1f) in October and backed that up with solid placed at Stratford and Windsor since. Races off the same mark and ought to go well again.

Form: 1-46143

Zacony Rebel^b,t²⁶

Age: 11| Weight: 11-9| J: James Best| T: S-J Davies| OR: 93

40/1

Huntingdon winner (23.6f) last month but that 2-finisher race very much fell apart and he was found out in a more competitive event at same course latest. Others preferred.

Form: 583218

Edgewell^b¹⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 11-6| J: J M Quinlan| T: Nick Scholfield| OR: 90| D

8/1

Unreliable sort who ran in snatches when third of 6 in handicap chase at this course (26.3f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Others are more convincing.

Form: 53P453

Lough Owel^t⁴⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: S Bowen| T: D Summersby| OR: 84

12/1

Maiden hurdler who showed similar form to be placed first 3 starts over fences this season. However, disappointed twice since and has something to prove now.

Form: 7-2236P

School For Scandal³²

Age: 11| Weight: 10-13| J: Taylor Fisher| T: J Tickle| OR: 83| CD

22/1

Successful twice this season, latest at Windsor (24.3f) in November. Well below that level at Wincanton latest but can't be ruled out here.

Form: 4-P1417

Daring Plan⁴⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: Lucy Gardner| T: Mrs S Gardner| OR: 82

9/1

Still looking for first success and expensive to follow this season, yet there was more encouragement than on his reappearance when finishing respectable third of 7 in handicap chase at Fontwell (21.6f, soft) 40 days ago. Would be a player if building on that from career-low mark.

Form: 56-3FP3

Sweet Nightingale^t³⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 10-11| J: Benjamin Poste| T: P Gundry| OR: 81

25/1

Modest winner at 18f over hurdles who made the frame again in this sphere when creditable third at Wincanton (20.2f) in November. Turned in a rare poor effort at Hereford since but type to bounce back if staying this longer trip.

Form: 74/333P

Watchoutitscookie⁵⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 10-8| J: James Davies| T: N J Hawke| OR: 78| D

12/1

Not the easiest to catch right but ran up to best when good second of 14 in handicap hurdle at Wincanton (19.8f, good) in November. Needs to back it up now off a 4 lb higher mark, returned to the larger obstacles.

Form: F0-2482

Steal The Moves³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-8| J: Lily Pinchin| T: Mrs E Bishop| OR: 78

9/1

Winner of a point bumper who posted best form under Rules when fourth of 8 in Lingfield handicap (23.5f, good) on seasonal/chase debut in November. Failed to repeat that effort at Leicester since, however, and others appeal more.

Form: 073P-47

Holkham Hall^t⁴⁴

Age: 10| Weight: 10-6| J: R T Dunne| T: Gordon Treacy| OR: 76

12/1

Lightly-raced ex-Irish maiden hurdler/chaser. Won 2 points since final start for Paul Henderson in 2022 but made little impact on return over timber for new yard last month. Handicap chase debut.

Form: 1P51-S5

Ted The Thief⁴⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-5| J: Harry Kimber| T: R Walford| OR: 75

11/8

Winning pointer who left his efforts over hurdles well behind when fourth on debut in this sphere at Fontwell (21.6f) in November and built on that when good third of 11 in handicap chase at Wincanton (26.7f, soft) 44 days ago. Likely contender.

Form: 194-843

Break Heart Hill^p1⁴⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 10-2| J: Ben Godfrey| T: Mrs F M Shaw| OR: 71

33/1

Remains with little form and has finished well held in a couple of handicap hurdle at Fontwell this term. Cheekpieces reached for now attentions switch to chasing but he is hard to recommend. 1 lb out of the weights.

Form: 8/996-77

Alderley Charlie^p1³⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-2| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽³⁾| T: P Gundry| OR: 68

40/1

No promise over hurdles and, following 10 months off, there was no upturn for a switch to this code when pulled up in an Exeter handicap chase 30 days ago. Hard to warm to from 4 lb out of the weights. New headgear.

Form: 007PP-P

Forecasts

Ted The Thief (11/8), Edgewell (8/1), Daring Plan (9/1), Steal The Moves (9/1), Faitque De L'Isle (10/1), Bataillon (12/1), Holkham Hall (12/1), Watchoutitscookie (12/1), Lough Owel (12/1), Staff Sergeant Len (12/1), School For Scandal (22/1), Sweet Nightingale (25/1), Break Heart Hill (33/1), Zacony Rebel (40/1), Alderley Charlie (40/1)

TED THE THIEF has proved himself a much better chaser than hurdler in recent months and remains with few miles on the clock. He makes fair appeal. Faitque de L'Isle and Daring Plan can also make their presence felt.
