Held his form well last season, landing the odds at Newcastle in March. Good second at Stratford on return but failed to jump with the same fluency when fourth of 6 at Wetherby and he took a heavy fall back there on Boxing Day (first time cheekpieces).
Placed both appearances in 17f Carlisle novice hurdles last winter. Pulled up on chase debut at Bangor in February but proved a different proposition after 9 months off/wind surgery, supplementing his Wetherby win at Aintree on Boxing Day. Up 6 lb and in a deeper race but he needs considering.
Point/bumper/hurdles winner who arrives in good nick in this sphere, third of 4 in handicap chase at Ascot (16.8f, good to soft) a month ago. Weighted to go well off 2 lb lower in his bid for a breakthrough chase success.
Successful Rules debut in a Hexham novice hurdle in October 2023 and also hit the target starting out over fences there on his reappearance last term. Struggled thereafter and didn't show enough on the back if another breathing op at Newcastle last month to seriously consider him.
A fair ex-French hurdles/chase winner but off for 13 months after a solid fourth of 14 in handicap chase at Hexham (20.1f, soft). Needs to hit the ground running.
Pair of wins at up to 21f in 2024. Off 13 months, shaped better than result when fifth of 9 in handicap at Newbury a month ago, closing and around 2 lengths behind eventual winner when blundered 2 out. Capable of having a big say here.
Reached the frame in maiden/novice hurdles last autumn but struggled switched to handicap company, including last month's Kelso reappearance. Already a better chaser, runner-up both starts at Catterick last month and no reason why he won't remain competitive.
Still a maiden and below par at Leicester last time. Others preferred in a deeper handicap than he need contest.

Forecasts
Throatlash (4/1), Icare Grandchamp (4/1), Southoftheborder (9/2), Bridge Court (11/2), Tommy Combats (6/1), Imperial Bede (13/2), Cerendipity (13/2), Dj Pete (7/1), Choose A Copper (22/1)
ICARE GRANDCHAMP was restricted to just the one run in 2025 but it was a promising effort at Newbury a month ago, better than the result having made a bad mistake. His profile over the larger obstacles is a positive one so he looks the answer. Bridge Court and Throatlash head up the opposition.
